Another Friend Here for a Visit....

this evening, we met up with another dear friend and classmate - ken, from Chicago. he arrived last night together with his friend ron, and are staying at Hotel Intercontinental Manila in Makati City. since they arrived close to midnight last night, ken arranged for a hotel pick up for them from the airport. tonight, ken invited us to visit them at their hotel room (so they can give us their "pasalubongs" to us) before we go out for dinner.

and what pasalubongs!!! he gave us a shirt each, a set of scented candles....... and an iPod Shuffle.... complete with a $15.00 music card!!!! yipeeeeeeeeeeee!!! perfect for my early morning walk/jog!!!

after ken's 2 nieces and a nephew arrived at the hotel, we all proceeded to Pier 1 at The Strip at The Fort to meet up with ken's photography friends for dinner.

from Pier 1, we took ron back to the hotel.... then we went to Pasay City to go and visit Tess wake. it was right on time because Tess' remains are due to be cremated tomorrow morning!

these last few days have been days of differing and contrasting emotions - joy and happiness for arrival of friends and gifts from abroad, pain and sadness for friends departing for good or temporarily to go back home abroad. well, such is life......
