Through the Decades....the 1960's
i spent my childhood during the 1960's....it was the time also that i started going to the "big" school after having spent a year in our church's "small" school as a "saling-pusa" because i was too young to be a regular student..
the 1960's also was the time when i was first exposed to humanity's best and worst....i saw live via satellite on black & white TV the landing of the first man on the moon (we had no classes then because it was declared a holiday!)....we celebrated with the rest of the world this momentous event....and i watched with my family news clippings of JFK's and RFK's assasinations. these were lonely times at home 'coz both my dad and mom were avid JFK and RFK fans!!!
towards the end of the 60's, i finished my elementary education after having spent Grade 1 at the Toro Hills Elementary School, Grades 2 to 4 at the Children's Village of the National Coordinating Center for the Study and Development of Filipino Children and Youth (NCCSDFCY)....i'm not kidding, that was the school's name!....and Grades 5 to 6 at the then exclusive, all-boys Notre Dame of Manila.
at this point, please let me ask forgfiveness from my mom and dad for making them go up the stage several times to pin medals on me every graduation day....so sorry!!!....hehehehehehe
