Who is Joseph Forest?
Joseph Forest is simply a re-translation of my name....Joseph stands for Joselito (Jose is Spanish for "Joseph" and the suffix "lito" means "small" in Spanish). I was named after my grandfather on my father's side......he is the "Big Jose" and i am the "Little Jose". Forest stands for the L. (this is supposed to be a Chinese surname.....except that it is generally thought that "L." is our original surname and "rest" might have been the first name of one of our ancestors....in Chinese, the surname consists only of one syllable.....L. in Chinese, and even in Japanese, characters is written as "2 trees" and given the meaning of "small forest".) so there you have it....Joseph Forest is the short English translation of my full name! if you insist on the longer English translation....my full name means "little jose of the small forest".
but that doesn't end there....my middle name is A. .....so the English translation of my full name "Joselito A. L." is actually "angelic little jose of the small forest"!!! hehehehehe....nice!
now, if we are to really, really dig deeper and look for the origin of the name "Joseph".....it has its Hebrew origin....and means "God will increase!" or "God shall add!" this'll then mean......
enough already! i don't want people to feel insecure about their names after having known my glorious full name!!! hehehehehe

having lived in both the US and Japan and having a lot of exposure to the chinese here in my country, i know a little bit about how the american indian, the japanese, and the chinese cultures put a lot of thought in how they give names to children. i was so happy when i found out that my names do have meanings because somehow, i am finding out that my name is what i am!
incidentally, the three cultures mentioned above are also known for honoring their ancestors...and having been named after my grandfather is doubly wonderful!
